TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- The hundredth anniversary of Iranology Department was held on October 24 at Gottingen University.

The ceremony was attended by the Iranian Press Deputy of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Sohofi and a number of Iranologists around the world.

Talking in the ceremony professor Krein Brook dean of the Iranology Department criticized the negative view about Iran in the world media, calling Iranian officials for a closer relation with the department.

Sohofi, a representative of Iran’s Iranology Foundation, presented a special gift to the Iranology Department of Gottingen University.

The ceremony continued yesterday with lectures by Iranologists from around the world. SRM END MNA
